Stephen Weaver

District Governor Serving as your Rotary District 6880 Governor for 2026 - 2027

“The Power of Steve Weaver is serving as District Governor for Rotary District 6880 in 2026–27, working alongside 46 clubs from the Montgomery area down to the Gulf Coast and west to the Wiregrass. A proud Rotarian from Fairhope, Steve loves visiting clubs, hearing their stories, and seeing firsthand how Rotarians quietly change lives in communities across south Alabama.
This year’s district theme, The Power of Us, captures how Steve sees Rotary: when we show up together, invite new people into service, and make the experience welcoming and enjoyable, there is almost nothing we cannot do. Membership growth is at the heart of his vision for District 6880—he is asking every club to focus on both attracting new members and keeping the ones they have engaged, supported, and proud to wear the Rotary gear. His goal is simple and personal: more Rotarians in more communities, doing more good, together.

Rotary District 6880 Announces $7.5 Million Milestone for Shared Endowment Fund

Rotary International District 6880, serving communities from Montgomery to the Gulf Coast and west to the Wiregrass region of Alabama, proudly announces the successful raising of $7.5 million for its District Shared Endowment Fund—an achievement that will create a lasting legacy of service and impact for generations to come.

This milestone reflects the collective commitment of Rotarians across the district who believe in the enduring power of service above self. Through strong leadership, strategic vision, and a shared sense of purpose, members united to build a permanent financial foundation that will support meaningful projects well into the future.

A Rotary Shared Endowment Fund is a permanently invested fund designed to generate ongoing earnings. Rather than spending the principal, the fund's investment income is used annually to support service initiatives, ensuring sustainable and long-term impact. This approach allows Rotary District 6880 to expand its reach and respond to community needs year after year.

Earnings from the Shared Endowment Fund will support a wide range of projects across South Alabama, including:

Community development initiatives such as parks, public spaces, and local infrastructure improvements

Education and youth programs, including scholarships, literacy efforts, and leadership development

Health and wellness initiatives, including access to care, mental health support, and disease prevention

Disaster relief and recovery efforts in times of crisis

Economic development and workforce readiness programs that strengthen local communities

This fund positions District 6880 to be proactive rather than reactive—empowering Rotary clubs to take on larger, more impactful projects that address critical needs across the region.

"This achievement demonstrates what is possible when we work together with a shared vision," said District leadership. "The power of us is strong in District 6880. By coming together to create this endowment, we are ensuring that Rotary's impact in South Alabama will continue to grow and serve our communities for years to come."

Rotary District 6880 remains committed to creating positive, lasting change through service, leadership, and collaboration. The $7.5 million Shared Endowment Fund stands as a testament to that commitment—and to the enduring strength of Rotary's mission.

ROTARY FOUR WAY TEST: More than 60 years ago, in the midst of the Great Depression, a U.S. Rotarian devised a simple, four-part ethical guideline that helped him rescue a beleaguered business. The statement and the principles it embodied also helped many others find their own ethical compass. Soon embraced and popularized by Rotary International, The Four-Way Test today stands as one of the organization’s hallmarks.   READ MORE
